Who is  Damon Giustini, Chainsaw Carving Artist?

I am a self-taught chainsaw carving artist from North Scituate, Rhode Island. I learned to wield a chainsaw as a landscaper and tree trimmer, and fell in love with the texture of wood.  Although I always liked art, wood carving was the first actual expression of my talent.

How did I learn?  It was sheer grit and determination to get it right;  I worked at it every day, and never considered giving up.  I started by carving very rough small animals and pieces from logs. When my first piece got the attention of a friend, I was encouraged to try another.  I continued challenging myself to carve more complicated and larger pieces. I especially enjoy the challenge of creating a custom piece to please a customer.  I have been blessed with support and encouragement from my family, friends and patrons. 

I prefer carving pine tree trunks and Rhode Island is loaded with them.  If you have a tree carving project in mind, let's talk.  I will visit your site and assess the condition of the tree you want carved, discuss the subject, and estimate the cost.
